• Development of cooperation projects focusing on the sustainable enhancement of cultural life - as an important element of a democratic
society – in collaboration with local partner organisations and experts. Specifically, this includes projects like the establishment of a CD label
in Bosnia-Herzegovina; training and support for cultural centres in Romania in setting up Artist-in-Residence programmes; the formulation of models for
cultural city development in Ukraine; setting up a training centre for photography in Albania (in the framework of SCP/Pro Helvetia)
• Elaboration of concepts and instruments for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of medium and long term cultural projects.
• Development and implementation of concepts and programmes of development cooperation (country and regional programmes, sector policies, guidelines for
quality management). Concept and planning of conferences on specific topics of international cooperation (HEKS)
• Implementation of campaigns on cultural themes relevant to North-South relations such as textiles and fashion, flowers, art trafficking:
publications, events, contests, teaching units etc. (Berne Declaration)
• Launch of the “OTHER literature club” in Switzerland, organisation and moderation of lectures and conferences with writers from Africa, Asia
and Latin America, editing anthologies and writing articles and interviews
• Evaluations, e.g. external evaluation of the pilot project “Changana / Portuguese bilingual education” (on behalf of the Mozambican
Ministry of Education and the Dutch Embassy in Maputo, in collaboration with Guilhermina Macavi)
